More than 200 interested participants from all over the world attended Kadeco's Open Day on the procurement of a design team to deliver a strategic Masterplan for the area surrounding Keflavik International Airport. The Kadeco staff has since met one-on-one with a number of interested parties. In May 2021, a shortlist of participants for the next phase of the tender will be announced. The winning proposal is expected to be announced in October 2021.
Kadeco is committed to procuring a design team to deliver a strategic masterplan that will identify and support the strategy for the sustainable development and planning of the Keflavik Airport Development Area. The plan will serve as both a framework for the area’s long-term development (until 2050) and as a springboard for launching individual projects in the near term (until 2030).
