Kadeco, Reykjanesbær and the Icelandic state sign an agreement for development at Ásbrú

Kadeco, Reykjanesbær, and the Icelandic state have signed an agreement for future development at Ásbrú. Among the elements stated in the agreement is the construction of 800 residential apartments, development of public infrastructure, public spaces and new buildings for community amenities.

There is great demand for residential housing in the Suðurnes area, and Ásbrú is in a particularly good position for rapid development of a sustainable residential neighbourhood. Ásbrú is home to a vibrant community that will be further strengthened by the development of new residential areas and infrastructure. The contract aims to meet the demands for residential housing, increase stability and predictability, and continue the development of the Ásbrú area.

Pálmi Freyr Randversson, managing director of Kadeco, Sigurður Ingi Jóhannsson minister of finance, and Halldóra Fríða Þorvaldsdóttir, acting mayor of Reykjanesbær, signed the agreement at Andrews Theater at Ásbrú.
