Three multinational teams, led by design firms Arup, Jacobs, and KCAP, have qualified for the final phase of the Keflavik Airport Area strategic masterplan tender. A group of people from each team visited Iceland earlier this month, staying in Reykjanes to familiarize themselves with the area. A part of the group’s itinerary was a field trip around Reykjanes where they were welcomed by representatives from Reykjanesbær, Suðurnesjabær, and Isavia.
Over the course of the next couple of months, the three teams will further develop and finalize their ideas for the site. The winning proposal will be announced in December 2021.
